I was recently required to write a short essay following a slippering for failing a French vocabulary test at either the third or fourth time of asking.
This task actually doubles as handwriting homework, so, before I pen a neat draft to hand in to my teacher, I thought I would put this out to “the rest of the class” for ideas and suggested improvements.
As ever, I look forward to hearing your thoughts! Read the 500-worder below, (it’s a real treat), and then hit “Like & Comment” and do your worst!
Why I was slippered this morning
There are a multitude of reasons as to why I was slippered this morning, not least because my teacher is a slipper fanatic and rather enjoys watching confident young ladies receive it. There are, of course, other causes but first let us deal with “this morning.”
My teacher is ordinarily a staunch advocate for dealing with misconduct of any kind in the instant. He is well known for blathering on about the importance of linking the punishment with the crime and that justice delayed is justice denied. Mon professeur is regularly found using phrases such as: “Best to get it out of the way,” and “I would first like to get our unpleasant business out of the way,” regarding disciplinary matters. So, to be slippered at his behest “this morning,” as opposed to last Friday when the offence was committed, is curious indeed!
The official reason given at the time of sentencing was: “I wish to give you some reflection time.” A somewhat puzzling tactic given a similar thing had failed the week before. I was sentenced to 12 with the slipper and 2 with the cane only a week last Friday, but my HoH wasn’t well enough to allow justice to be served and so the punishment was postponed until the following Tuesday. Then, on the very next Friday, here I was once again staring down a further 24 with the slipper for the same offence. Given the not inconsiderable “reflection time” had failed to correct the issue in the previous week, I cannot fathom why he thought it would be effective this time - what is it that Albert Einstein is purported to have said regarding doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? I therefore put it to you, dear reader, that it was not in fact reflection time for me but rather wanking time for he!
“This morning” duly dealt with, it is now time to look at the “why.” Why was I slippered? Apart from my teacher being a slipper and general corporal punishment enthusiast, the reasons for my slippering were as follows: Repeated failure to learn some truly wretched French vocabulary and in particular being unable - despite repeated warnings - to reliably conjugate verbs. Some fairly classic “schoolgirl probs” and some absolutely classic teacher remedies.
I suppose the real question is whether or not I shall complete a hat-trick of slipperings for the exact same offence in three consecutive weeks? I’ve been promised “double or quits.” As I write this, I have a little over 48 hours remaining before my next vocab test and I haven’t done a stroke!
Will young Jacqui make a late dash for the line, or will it be yet another slippering courtesy of Frickin’ French Friday?
